Cory Zeidman Wins Event #4 of 2012 WSOP

The 43^rd annual World Series of Poker is in full swing and yet another event has finished up. Event #4 of the WSOP was a $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi/Low Eight-or-Better event and 622 players competed in this event. The event saw many notable players competing in the event and in the end it was down to Chris Bjorin and Cory Zeidman. Bjorin was working on his third WSOP bracelet, but it was not to be, as Zeidman wanted a fourth bracelet!

As we mentioned, several notable players competed in this event. Linda Johnson, Jimmy Fricke, Jerrod Ankenman, Dan Shak and Mike Sexton were just a few among many top competitors who participated in the event, none of which were able to make the final table during the event.

When final table play began, Zeidman would hold the chip lead. Zeidman would sit alongside Todd Brunson, Xian Liu and Michael Mizrachi. The three players sitting alongside Zeidman would end up taking each other out. Liu defeated Brunson and Brunson would be defeated by Mizrachi who would move on to be defeated by Chris Bjorin.

This would lead to Bjorin and Zeidman facing off in heads up play. When heads up play began, Zeidman would have a 3:1 chip lead and he would not back down. After earning a flush early on, Zeidman would win almost 1.5 million and this would push him way ahead of Bjorin. The final hand played out as follows:

Bjorin was down to his last bet and he would go all in with J hearts-10 diamonds-4 diamonds-7 Spades— Q diamonds-8 hearts. While Zeidman held 8 diamonds-4 spades-2 spades-7 clubs—King spades-King spades.

Bjorin would have nothing on the final hand and got a good look on Fifth Street but by the river he was unable to get what he needed to stay in the game. In the end, Ziedman would earn his fourth bracelet as he claimed the $201,559 grand prize.
