Arizona Casino’s Ladies Only Ladies State Poker Championship 2007

2006 marked the very first annual Ladies State Poker Championship in Arizona, more than 400 Women Poker players showed up to vie for the title. This year, more ladies of holdem are expected to show.
Tournament organizers say they were caught unaware last year, they didn't know in that the event would be so popular, but when 400 women show up to play poker.. "and competed for the coveted prize, we knew we had a successful event on our hands. As a result, we have increased the number of players to 450 this year and expect an even stronger turnout." says Kent Odekirk, Casino Arizona Poker Director.
Women playing in the ladies only poker tournament will pay $300 for entry, including the fee paid to the house, and the actual buy in monies. The cards will fly into the air today at 9am.
The winners of the Ladies Only poker tournament will each win their share of a guaranteed prize pool of $125,000 this year. The overall winner, the lady that takes 1st place and all the glory, will win $50,000 and, a necklace, in addition to the Ladies State Poker Championship trophy.
There will be a total of 45 cash prize winners, with 30th is the bubble, 31st is the first spot that pays, payout for this spot through 45th is $325.00 covering your buyin plus a little bit of profit.
In 2006, the Ladies Only Poker event was won by Tucson Arizona resident and native Deb Blair, who took home $40,000 for her efforts, along with the diamond necklace, and first ever Ladies State Poker Championship trophy.
In regards to her experience at the Ladies State Poker Championship Blair said, "This was my first time playing at Casino Arizona, and I had a really good experience,".
