Sunday marked the beginning of 888poker’s XL Eclipse Series, a unique poker tournament series offering a massive amount of events over a 15 day time frame. During day one, 16 total tournaments took place. Below is a look at the Sunday Swordfish event, which had a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000 with a $160 buy-in.
With the $300,000 Sunday Swordfish tournament, 2,300 players competing, creating a total prize pool of $345,000. It would take over 13 hours of game play for the tournament to name a champion. In the end, it was online player “ImTriggered” who earned the win, defeating “Tsipras” in heads up play.
During the tournament, 1,700 players paid the $160 buy-in to compete. Out of those competing, 600 rebuys were purchased to create the total of 2,300 entries. 207 players were paid with it taking some time before players would finish in the money.
In the end, when three way play began, “ImTriggered” would take out “89Diamonds” to earn a significant chip lead going into heads-up play with “Tsipras”. While “Tsipras”, a player of Finland, would fight well, in the end, “ImTriggered” of Costa Rica would earn the first place win.
The XL Eclipse continues until the 24th of September so players still have plenty of time to compete in any of the tournament events. The schedule is full of unique gaming options with buy-ins of all sizes to meet player bankrolls of all types, from low to high rollers.
