Officials of the World Series of Poker have released the full schedule for the 2017 WSOP, including three online poker tournaments. This year, the WSOP will have 74 bracelet events in total, beginning in May and running until July with the Main Event finishing out the tournament events.
Players who head to Nevada to take part in the WSOP also find themselves logging online due to iPoker being available in the state. Visitors from outside Nevada want to take part in cash gaming and tournaments online, especially in between WSOP events. For this year, the schedule will include the most online events ever offered, with three available starting with Event #8.
Event #8 has a buy-in of $333 and will take part in no limit hold’em format. A prize pool of $333,333 will be awarded in total. The next online event will not take place until Event #61 when the Online No Limit High Roller tournament is scheduled. The buy-in for this event is $3,333. The last online event is the No Limit Hold’em Championship which will take place as Event #71 on the schedule with a $1,000 buy-in.
Players can begin taking part in online satellites for the online WSOP tournament events as well as live events beginning the 1st of February. Registration for events will begin by March. The WSOP has decided to offer eight new events on the schedule including The Giant and The Marathon. The Giant has a buy-in of $365 with a no limit hold’em unlimited re-entry format. Every Friday night for a five week time frame beginning on the 9th of June, players can compete at 7pm to try and make it to the find round on the 8th of July and claim the title win.
The Marathon will begin on the 12th of June and will have a buy-in of $2,620. No Limit Hold’em is the name of the game and levels will increase every 100 minutes. Starting chips are set at 26,200 to stay in line with the marathon theme. The tournament will run for a five day time frame until the winner is named.
