2009 WCOOP Schedule Released by PokerStars

The 8^th World Championship of Online Poker is set to begin very soon so PokerStars has released the tournament schedule for the poker series. The 2009 WCOOP will have forty five events that will take place beginning on September 3^rd through the 21^st. The guaranteed prize pool total for all events is set for $40 million.

Each day of the series offers at least two events if not more. Fourteen out of forty five of the events have a guaranteed prize pool of at least $1 million and the two day main event features a minimum prize pool of $10 million.

Games that will be played during the 2009 WCOOP include: Limit and No Limit Hold’em, Razz, Pot Limit Omaha and Seven Card stud and more. New additions to the schedule for this year’s WCOOP are a Badugi event and a Pot Limit Omaha Heads Up event.

Vanessa Rousso, Team PokerStars Pro member, commented on the Championship stating: “The WCOOP is my favorite event- anyone can play at anytime, anywhere, with tournaments running throughout the day. For millions of players, it’s the ultimate poker championship and everyone has the chance to become a World Champion!”

Players can choose to pay the buy-in for the WCOOP tournament of their choice or they can participate in PokerStars satellites which will be available in a range of low-stake buy-ins so anyone can get the chance to compete in an event.
