Contenders for the 2008 Heads Up Poker Challenge that’s being held at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas will find out tonight who they will face at the start of the annual invitation only tournament.
The pairing party kicks off tonight at the exclusive PURE nightclub, inside of Caesar’s palace. The club is so exclusive that there is an IRS audit underway pertaining to kickbacks paid to doormen for entry, allegedly reaching as high as 22k in one night.
High profile celebrity poker players will hit the red carpet beginning tonight at 9:30. The main event begins tomorrow morning at 11am, 4flush.com will be covering the event live and blogging on location.
There are 64 players involved in the event in total, 2 players won their tournament seats by playing in satellite competitions held at Caesar’s Palace. An online poker satellite tournament was held at PokerStars, the winner of that event also won a seat at the 2008 Heads Up Poker Championships. All of the remaining seats were given to celebrity poker players that received a personal invitation to the exclusive ‘who’s who in poker’ style event.
