The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will be hosting the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open beginning this week with the popular tournament series to take place from the 28th of July to the 16th of August. Registration has opened for the events with players soon to be heading to Hollywood, Florida to take part in the many tournament on the schedule.
The first Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open took place three years ago in 2013 and offered a guarantee of $10 million in prize money. For 2016, the Big 4 will return, which will see a four-tournament gaming options offering prize money totaling $7.5 million. This gaming option was created during the 2015 Poker Open and has returned to this year’s schedule.
In total, the Poker Open will feature 28 tournaments with gaming varients including Omaha 8 or Better, Texas Hold’em and HORSE. Formats will also vary and include shootout, seniors and deep stack, as well as others.
The Big 4 tournaments will include the Championship event which will start on the 13th of August. This event has a buy-in of $5,250 and will offer $5 million in guaranteed prize money. First place will take home $1 million and a minimum of 150 players will earn a payout. Players will find smaller buy-ins with the No Limit Hold’em events on the 14th and 15th of August.
The $2,650 No Limit Hold’em event starts on the 14th and offers up $1 million with the $1,100 No Limit Hold’em event beginning on the 15th and offering $500,000 minimum, guaranteed. The $25,500 High Roller tournament is another event set for the 15th which will offer another $1 million in guaranteed prize money. The winner will earn at least $350,000 for topping the field of competitors.
